Martin D. Payson is currently a Managing Partner of Carl Marks Healthcare Partners LLC, and Chairman of Maimonides Medical Center and Nassau Health Care Corporation. He was the former Vice Chairman of Time Warner Inc. He is on the Board of Governors of Howard University Hospital and an active or emeritus member of the Boards of each of the following: NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (former Co-Chairman), Howard University (former Chair of Medical Affairs), New York University Law Center Foundation, and Tulane University (former Chair of Health Sciences Committee). He has served as Trustee for the Jewish Theological Seminary, the Jewish Museum, and the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (former Chairman). He is a recipient of the NYU School of Law Vanderbilt Medal Award, Tulane University’s Dermot S. McGlinchey Lifetime Achievement Award, and United Hospital Fund’s Health Care Leadership Award of New York.
