Michelle Goldberg is a journalist and author based in New York. Her first book, the New York Times bestseller "Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism," was about the influence of religious fundamentalism on Bush-era American politics; it was a finalist for the New York Public Library's Helen Bernstein Award for Excellence in Journalism. Goldberg spent the next two years traveling through four continents to research "The Means of Reproduction: Sex, Power and the Future of the World," a book about the global battle over reproductive rights that was recently published by Penguin Press, and that won the 2008 J. Anthony Lukas Work-In-Progress Award. A former senior writer at Salon.com, Goldberg is a columnist for The American Prospect, and her work has appeared in The New Republic, The Nation, The Los Angeles Times, Glamour, The Guardian (UK) and many other publications
