Alex M. Azar II is Vice President of Business-to-Business and Puerto Rico for Eli Lilly USA. Mr. Azar first joined Eli Lilly and Company as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communication in 2007. He was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, overseeing all HHS programs and operations. He also served the HHS as General Counsel. Mr. Azar clerked for Judge J. Michael Luttig of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and for Associate Justice Antonin Scalia of the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Azar was also a partner at Wiley, Rein & Fielding in Washington, D.C. He received his law degree from the Yale Law School and his bachelor’s from Dartmouth College.
