Mardell L. Burkholder, MA, is the Executive Director of Children’s Health Foundation (CHF), a non-profit organization seeking to advance preventive and integrative health initiatives that benefit the mind, body, and spirit of children. Ms. Burkholder has collaborated with non-profit organizations, schools and foundations on programs that ensure the health of our children. She supervised The State of Nutrition and Physical Activity in Colorado Schools, a CHF publication that established a baseline understanding of the existing nutrition and physical activity environments in schools. This data led to work focused on preventing childhood obesity by transforming school lunch. A Lunch for Life healthy nutrition in schools initiative was launched in Colorado in 2008. She has served on the Aspen Board of Education and received her master’s degree from the University of Colorado Denver.
